END OF AN ERA

Maree Bureaus and customers may have noticed the absence of our control room Manager "Maree". As of 1st March, 2008 "Maree" has left The Monitoring Centre in search of warm tropical weather and a new life in Darwin.

Maree was TMC's first control room operator and her commitment and experience will be greatly missed. All the staff at TMC want to thank her for her contribution to TMC's success and wish her and her partner Nathan all the best with their future endeavors.

Maree spent her last few months training our new control room supervisors Mina and Safa. Both supervisors are highly experienced operators and have been tackling this new role with much enthusiasm.

INFORMATION FOR BUREAUS

TMC always strive to provide the best possible service to our bureaus. Therefore, it is important that we have all up to date information forwarded to us as soon as possible. Currently, there are still some clients that have not reported to TMC for weeks, even months. Our staff regularly send out reminders to all bureaus whose clients are currently not reporting, so please advise us if and when we can expect the problem to be rectified.

Also, at present some bureaus are experiencing difficulties with their designated patrol companies. In case a patrol company declines to attend premises due to stop trade issue, we try our best to organise another company or police to attend. This is not always easy and it is often time consuming. From our experience patrol companies are reluctant to attend if a bureau is not listed as their customer, and police cannot guarantee a swift response time. In order to avoid unnecessary delays we would prefer to have another patrol company added to the keyholder list.

LATE TO CLOSE PROCEDURES

When technicians are onsite commissioning new clients with back-to-base monitoring it is important that they advise these new clients of The Monitoring Centre procedure's, in particular our late to close and out of hours procedure's. Advising the client saves us time and also makes them aware of what to do. If staff are working back past their supervised times they should be calling the control room and advising an operator. The same procedure applies for out of hours entries.

FACTS

TMC are the monitoring specialists of both commercial and residential properties. With a constant threat of home burglaries, an efficient alarm system can be a real deterrent against theft and vandalism of houses or apartments. Over 30% of Australian homes have been burgled at one time or another as fences and good locks no longer provide enough protection for residence or businesses. Here are some interesting facts about residential security based on statistical evidence from recent years.
  • Although residential property crimes have declined by over 25% between years 2000-2007, home burglaries effect thousands of homes every year

  • Insurance claims for unprotected homes are six times higher than those fitted with a 'local' alarm system

  • Properties with back-to-base monitored alarm system reduce the risk of burglary even further

  • Over 30% of Australian homes have experienced some form of an attempted break in

  • Most home intrusions occur in daytime hours

  • Most sought after items in break-ins are cash, jewellery and camera equipment

  • Major insurance companies offer discounts to properties protected by an approved alarm system.

There is little doubt that back-to-base monitored alarm system can offer a piece of mind while properties are unattended. Our dedicated staff will immediately inform the client of any intruder activity, and patrol vehicle and police can also be dispatched. We offer the latest technology in home security backed by our 24 hour control room and technical support.
